Reni Stephan, born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1981, is an Assyrian American artist renowned for his sculptures and paintings that draw inspiration from his Mesopotamian heritage. After relocating to the United States in 1993, Stephan pursued his passion for art, eventually earning a degree from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. He owns Studio Lamassu in Sterling Heights, Michigan, where he creates works that honor ancient Assyrian and Babylonian art. In 2020, Stephan won first place in the Assyrian Cultural Foundation's Fine Arts Competition. In 2023, he was recognized as the Featured Artist by the city of Sterling Heights.
